To “brag” is to speak highly of oneself and one’s accomplishments or to talk about people who are close to you, such as a family member. It’s generally considered to be in poor taste to brag, but people naturally do it.

  • Our neighbors like to brag about their dog and how smart he is. We brag about our dog, too.
  • Sometimes I brag about my kids. Most fathers do.
  • Stop bragging! It’s not polite to brag all the time.
